On the SoftRAID important notices page (at bottom of page)there's a section titled " iMac Pro Users: SoftRAID 5.6.5 driver update problem" regarding updating the SoftRAID driver on iMac Pro systems. The latest updaters to High Sierra also donot install onto SoftRAID startup volumesĪpple has informed us that starting up from RAID volumes will not be supported in the future, and no bug fixes are planned for any current installation or booting issues with regards to Apple RAID or SoftRAID volumes. If you want to start up fromSoftRAID volumes, there are instructions for doing this on the SoftRAID forum. It will not work on early Intel Macs with Core Duo processors.Īpple's High Sierra installer cannot be directly installed onto SoftRAID volumes (for booting).
SoftRAID requires a Mac which contains a Core 2 Duo or later processor. Support for TRIM commands on SSDs requires 10.7.5 or later. SoftRAID 5.6.5 requires Mac OS X 10.6.8 or later.
